Last weekend, the GovLab’s Chief of Research and Development Stefaan Verhulst spoke at the Technological Innovation in Government: Toward Open and Smart Government Symposium at the University of Massachusetts Boston Campus Center. The event featured leaders in a diversity of fields sharing their “proven strategies, policies, and examples of technological innovation in government.” Speakers at the symposium included Tony Parham, Chief Innovation Officer of Massachusetts; Nigel Jacob, Co-founder, New Urban Mechanics, City of Boston; Theresa Pardo, Director of SUNY-Albany’s Center for Technology in Government and many more.
Verhulst discussed ways in which the GovLab is working to accelerate innovation in response to a variety of current governance deficits in a panel on Collaborative Governance, Evidence-based Performance Management, and Government Call Centers.
