Discourse: re-imagining online conversations

On October 21, 2014 we had a conversation with Jeff Atwood about Discourse, an open source discussion platform that attempts to reimagine what a modern, sustainable, fully open-source Internet discussion platform should be today – both from a technology standpoint and a sociology standpoint.

What: Watch the video to find out what Discourse is, how it works, the process of its design and how can the platform be used for social good.

About Jeff: Jeff Atwood is an American software developer, author, blogger, and entrepreneur. He is widely known for the programming blog Coding Horror, and as the co-founder of the question-and-answer Stack Overflow and the Stack Exchange Network. As of 2013, he is full-time working on improving conversations on the Internet through the Civilized Discourse Construction Kit, Inc. and the Discourse open-source discussion platform.
